She'd just gotten off work, so she was still in her uniform, but she was grabbing something for dinner, something quick and easy because she was hungry and she didn't want to cook for herself when she got home. So she was at the salad bar, obviously making herself something to eat, it should, to her mind, be obvious she wasn't working right now. Only people didn't seem to notice and she'd ended up spending the last five minutes or so directing people in the direction they needed to go. And now she was getting hangry. So the next person who looked like they were about to talk to her, she cut off with a firm (but polite, in her mind), "I'm sorry, I can't help you, I'm on my way home."
