“No, wasn't that, was more surprise,” one it was Samantha being out here this seemed like one of those guided by fate moments.
“You bumpin’ into me out here. I don’t know if fate, destiny, whatever is a thing but this sorta shit makes you think about it.”
Also Samantha looking like a snack but Dixie wasn’t going to ruin this reunion by being untoward that quickly. Continuing to walk and talk as that smirk settled on a genuine smile.
Dixie lit up when talking about hunting, even more so than when she was discussing her career. Singing had always just been a job as much as her fans wanted it to be otherwise, it was a means to get her family out of poverty in the late 70s.
She had been the kid that could sing and she did something with it, not by choice exactly, more duty when your whole family lives in a shack and hunted to eat so the great outdoors, all this cowgirl shit was what she truly enjoyed because it was a lot closer to where she began.
“Yeah. Once. I usually hunt around my place because it’s just easier but I like tracking. I know my own woods too well. It stops being interesting, sort of like a game of hide and seek but you know all the hiding places already.”
