He'd finally gotten the time to sit down and watch Wild Wild Country
when his phone rang not 20 minutes into the first episode-- it was the hospital, telling him Amara had been in a car accident. Initially, he went into panic mode. Their marriage had been on pause, more or less, since she came clean about her affair, and he would have been destroyed if that fight was the last time they really spoke to each other. But the nurse didn't sound too urgent, so by the time he had Sonny packed up and ready to go to his mom's house, he had calmed down considerably. Freaking out wouldn't help anybody, right?
But some of the nerves returned when he entered the hospital, and he was afraid of what she might look like (and honestly, afraid that he wouldn't be able to stay mad at her). The nurse directed him to her room and by the time he opened the door, his heart was pounding. Fortunately, though, she didn't look too bad. And she was awake, which was great.
He still didn't know what to say, though. He would ask what happened, but he wasn't sure if he wanted to know, because he was pretty sure she was with Jai when it happened. So he just silently walked over to her bed and sat in the chair beside it.
