TALIA FROM BIRTH . . .
Talia Nicole Kingsley was born in Brooklyn, New York as Talia Nicole Thomas. She was the eldest of two daughters, but they were both given up for adoption at very young ages. Talia vaguely remembered her little sister, Vanessa, after she was adopted but knew that she existed. Talia spent a couple of years in the orphanage until she was adopted by the Kingsley family, who longed to have a child of their own but couldn't physically have one. Adoption was their chance to complete their family and they chose to adopt Talia. Of course the agency tried to get the Kingsleys to adopt both Talia and Vanessa since they were sisters and wanted to keep them together, but they couldn't force the adoption of both children by the same family. The Kingsleys only wanted to adopt one child and Talia was the one they had fallen in love with and wanted as their own.
After Talia's adoption was complete, the Kingsleys took her home which was located in Albany, New York. Talia grew up and she and her new family grew closer to each other. Every summer Talia would visit her adoptive grandparents and other family in the city and that is where she met Cassidy Maverick. They quickly became fast friends and inseparable during Talia's vacations in the city. Cassidy became Talia's best friend and as they grew older they really started doing everything together, every chance they could get, they were literally like sisters to one another and most people who came across them thought they were sisters. They had similar features, they both had curly hair and hazel eyes that were just beautiful. They basically just started telling everyone they were sisters.
When Talia was 16 years old her family wanted to move out west in order to get away from the terrible winters in New York, so they relocated to Southern California, more specifically Los Angeles. Talia was not in favor of the mood and she was even more devastated that she had to leave Cassidy behind but there was nothing that she could do about since she was not yet an adult and live on her own, so off to California she went.
CULTURE SHOCK . . .
After she relocated to Los Angeles, Talia had to start over in a new city, a new neighborhood, and a new school. It was definitely a culture shock for her to moved clear across the country. Everything was different, the weather, the people, the fashion, the slang. It was all foreign to her and she had to adapt. The weather was the easiest to adapt to, she absolutely loved having the sun and warm breeze surround her all year long, but the hardest thing for her to adapt to were the people. They were just too friendly. In New York this was not the case and Talia always felt the new kids around her was always up to something or had some type of ulterior motive because that was what she was used to. She was used to having to look out for herself and make sure she was always on her guard, so that was a hard habit to break.
Slowly but surely as the weeks and months went by Talia started to make friends once she let her guard down. People were drawn to her because of her New York swagger, it appealed to everyone that she met and she didn't know why because at first she wasn't the friendliest. In the midst of her appealing to her peers, the more she hung around the people that were around her, the more they appealed to her. They were so laid back and carefree, she liked that and wanted to know how to be that way. Of course her nature was not that way at all, but she adapted and she made friends quicker than she thought she would. None would ever replace her best friend Cassidy but in the time being they filled her life while she was on the west coast.
After graduating from high school, she attended UCLA and double majored in Communication Studies and Theater. However, she dropped out of college after two years because she was just tired of doing the school thing and she needed a break from the books. She enjoyed the the college life but she was burnt out in the worst way possible. Her plan was to return to school after a semester or so off, but she landed a job as a flight attendant and she hasn't looked back yet.
FAMILY MATTERS . . .
Talia has always been curious as to what happened to her little sister but she didn't have the means to find out where her sister was and what she was doing. All the adoption records were sealed and Talia really didn't know how to ask her parents about her biological sister so she never did until she went off to college. They didn't know much except the reason why Talia and her baby sister was separated. They were separated because Talia's adoptive parents didn't want both of them. So Talia had to do a lot of saving money and once she had the cash she hired a private investigator to find Vanessa. She was surprised to find that her sister also lived in California and it so happened that Talia ended up getting a job near the town that Vanessa actually lived in which was by complete coincidence.
Talia rented out an apartment in the town of Ashwick Valley as she mulled over the new found information regarding her little sister. She planned on how she was going to introduce herself and eventually she showed up on Vanessa's doorstep. She revealed to Vanessa that she was her biological older sister and she knew it was hard for Vanessa to process. Talia gave her little sister the time she needed to get her mind right and actually decide if she wanted to pursue a relationship with her. Eventually Vanessa did come around and they started building their sister relationship.
As Talia got closer to Vanessa, she ended up meeting Vanessa's adoptive sister Gabriella Carter and things didn't start off right. They were immediately on opposing sides and Talia wasn't going to put up with the pettiness and bitterness. Talia wasn't trying to take Gabriella's place in Vanessa's life at all but they couldn't seem to get an understanding of that. However that didn't prevent Talia from spending as much time as she could with her sister and get to know her.
MORE SURPRISES . . .
As Talia was getting to know her sister again she was also getting to know the guys around Ashwick since she would be living here. She met Andres Montez at a house party and they quickly got to know each other on an intimate level. What Talia didn't know was that Andres was the ex boyfriend of Vanessa and Andres didn't know Talia was Vanessa's older sister. When the shit hit the fan it really causes a rift between Talia and Vanessa but Talia felt like she didn't do anything wrong because she didn't know. Things between Talia and Andres stopped once they found about each other's relation to Vanessa. Talia, however, had to let Vanessa get over what happened and decide whether or not she wanted to continue their sibling relationship.
In the meantime Talia spent her time with her best friend Cassidy who had relocated to the west coast a several years prior. Talia was thrilled to have Cassidy consistently in her presence. Cassidy helped her get through the ordeal and they cut up in the process, having as much fun as they could. Vanessa came back around and started to hang out with both Talia and Cassidy and it felt so normal for them to interact together, they just had a natural chemistry, some would say it was innate. One day Cassidy invited both Talia and Vanessa out to eat, it wasn't for just casual time, Cassidy had something that she wanted to reveal to them. She placed a folder in front of Vanessa and Talia. In that folder was proof that Cassidy was their half sister, they shared the same father. This was a complete shocker and Talia finally understood how Vanessa felt when she showed up. This was a crazy revelation but it wasn't hard to adjust to it at all. Cassidy and Talia already had a pre-existing relationship with one another and now this only solidified their bond. They all started to bond with each other as a trio.
During this past summer Talia spent time with another fling of hers named, Harlan Wright. But it turned out that Harlan was sleeping with both Talia and Vanessa. Talia was surprised and thrown off by the fact that she and her sister was sleeping with the same guy again. Talia didn't want a repeat of what happened with Andres so Talia told Harlan that he couldn't continue sleeping with both of them. He ended up choosing Vanessa over her and it kind of hurt her feelings and she wasn't quite sure how to react. She told Vanessa about Harlan but the conversation ended there. Now Talia is just living her life and maintaining.
