HOW ARE YOU TODAY?
"I'm doing great. I just came from shoppin' and shit so that's always a plus for me. I bought a couple new bags to stunt on these bitches."
She said with a chuckle. Lux pulled the fur coat jacket she had on off and draped it over the chair before she adjusted her posture and looked into the interviewers eyes through her red-tinted shades. "Ashwick don't have shit on Saks but there are some nice stores in Horton. That's the only place I shop when I come here."
She liked to spend her money on the best designer clothes. Sometimes she took to Los Angeles just to hit Rodeo.
WHAT'S YOUR FULL NAME? WHAT NAME DO YOU USUALLY GO BY? IS THERE A COOL MEANING BEHIND YOUR NAME?
"My full name is Lux Antoinette Géroux. I go by Lux though. But sometimes I get called princess by my daddy, because you know, I am the princess." She said before playfully batting her eyes. Lux chuckled before the smile disappeared from her face. 'Nah, but seriously, I am a princess. Me and my girls address ourselves as unfriendly black hotties. If you don't get the reference, check Mean Girls." She removed the glasses from over her eyes as she said her last statement. "And my instagram and twitter name is boujeebarbie because in high school, they used to tease me and shit. They said I was boujee, but if you know me. That's a fuckin' compliment especially now. I was boujee before Migos even made that song. I was boujee bitch number one and now all of these bitches wanna claim it when they just wearin' Forever 21 runway knock-offs cause they can't afford the real shit."
She took out the lip gloss that she had from her purse before reapplying it. "And I think my mom got my first name from the baby book. My middle name is my paternal grandmother's first name. When my mom was pregnant with me, she passed away from breast cancer so my parents gave me that middle name as sort of a tribute to her. My last name comes from my father of course."
WHEN'S THE LAST TIME YOU CRIED? WHY?
"I don't cry. I ain't no punk." She chuckled before it faded quickly. The last time she cried was when her father went to jail for credit fraud. He was a certified scammer before she was even born. No one in her family knew of his living but her mother. The first time that he went to jail was when she was just a teenager in Houston, where they fled to get away from his scandals but it didn't work. She was fourteen at the time when the cops came bombarding through the doors and snatched her father away from her. Lux didn't know what was going on at the time and her father wouldn't ever tell her. She didn't bother to google or ask her mother either until he was arrested a second time. This time it was in Los Angeles and he didn't stay long but she felt she was old enough to know so she googled his name. The results came back and she couldn't believe it.
Without thinking twice, she confronted him for everything and he came to her with the truth. She was more heartbroken that he was being taken away from her again so she broke down.
HAVE YOU EVER BEEN IN LOVE? IS LOVE EVEN REAL?
"Love? We don't know what that is." She laughed loudly. Currently, Lux is a complicated relationship with Jeremiah Scott. They met during one of her ventures to the club and she was attracted to him almost immediately. Lux knew that he had a girlfriend but she didn't care. She thought that she would be able to take him away from her but it didn't happen. Lux ended up getting herself into a web that she doesn't know how to get out of and she didn't know if she wanted that to happen either but she couldn't say that she was in love.
"Nah, I've been in a few relationships. But I mean, they ain't really mean anythin' so I don't know. I guess love isn't real. At least not for me." She shrugged her shoulders. "Okay, I mean, I guess there was this guy I guess I was kind of in love with. His name was Benjamin Lee and I met him when I was twenty. He was thirty at the time and he was just..." She paused as she thought about how he looked, biting her bottom lip. "He was just so fine. He had the prettiest mocha skin and his teeth were so white. Like he was just well put together and that's really a plus and shit for me. On top of that, he bought me anything that I wanted. He kept me spoiled and shit. I guess you could say I was a sugar baby." She chuckled. "But he broke up with me because he said I was too fuckin' childish, which is the dumbest reason because I was a fuckin' child! Anyways, I did my little research after that and learned that he was married with two kids." She shrugged her shoulders. "I guess his wife found out and told him not to see me anymore."
WHAT DO YOU THINK OF YOUR FRIENDS? IF YOU HAVE ANY....
Her eyes cut at the last sentence before she rolled them. Instead of commenting on them, she addressed his first question. "My friends think I'm great. We have a lot of fun together. Back in high school, they always talked about how dope my parties were and shit. I don't think that's changed at all. I still have very classic house parties. I try to look out for my girls from time to time too. Like if they need help or anything, I try to help them if I can." She said with a smile. "Cause I know they would do the same shit for me. I got some loyal bitches on my team."
WHAT DO YOUR FAMILY THINK OF YOU? WHAT DO YOU THINK OF YOUR FAMILY?
"Well where do I start? I guess with my favorite person in the world, my father. Like I said before, he calls me princess and he spoils me." She smiled widely. Lux was beaming as she talked about her father because he meant the world to her. In a way, he was her best friend. He always saw the good in her and who she truly was behind the materialistic facade. "I talk to him practically everyday and call him multiple times throughout so if that ain't a hint about how much I love him then I don't know what is. As for my mom, we don't really have a relationship." She shrugged her shoulders. They didn't talk at all.
When she was younger, her father would spoil her and her mother would be seen as the villain. She always viewed her as uptight and on top of that, because of her mom's job as an RN, she was rarely at home which didn't make things easy. "I respect her but I don't really fuck with her like that. And for my brother, it's kinda the same. I always thought he was jealous of me when I was younger cause I always got the flyest shit and my dad used to put his foot down for him. But I really don't care if he's mad about that. That ain't my business."
WHAT DO YOU THINK OF ASHWICK?
"Honestly, it's aight. Y'all need to learn how to make gumbo or something. Some good seafood too. Some shit here is just so bland. But I can't believe I'm back in a small town. I mean Lafayette is bigger than Ashwick but it was still small." When she was little, she moved from Lafayette to Houston because of the trouble that her father got into. After he got out of jail and the family moved to Los Angeles, he was back in trouble again. This time his stint in jail only lasted for a year but it was long enough to drive her crazy with only her mom there. So she left once she graduated. She knew then that she didn't want to be in close proximity of the woman so she started her first semester at Harding. "My daddy can't believe I'm here either. He say that every time he come out here to visit."
"But I got this place out in New Langrove? I think...It's a big ass house that me and my girls rent out every semester for school and it's pretty nice out there. I don't know if I could see myself living here though. Ask me in about a year or two."
